Total number of major useable airports tends to reflect on the modernized infrastructure of a particular nation while also allowing access to far-off parts from the capital city.

Total Serviceable Airports is a value that may directly reflect the developmental quality of a particular nation. Airports support a country by allowing access for economic and military purposes. As such, they serve a critical logistical-minded role during war time and become the primary targets of an attacking force. Only major serviceable airports are taken into account for the GFP ranking, generally including prepared airfields with some support facilities.
